I did remember later that he's mentioned in the past that he has a wierd phobia about puppets so that could have played a part. I'm not sure why the COP characters would have stood out in his mind any more than any of the other hundreds of AA's at Disney, but phobias don't tend to be logical. In that context I'm not sure how he made it through WDW at all except he's got 3 kids and probably was willing to "suck it up" for them. The things people do for their kids.
