Rain doesn't bug me... in fact I like a rainy day in the park. No, I Love a rainy day in DL ! ;)
The plan was that we would be there Jan. 7-12, but now that they don't have the 6 day parkhoppers, looks like we'll do one day less and have to do something else one day. Probably HM and IASW will be down for holiday removal but that is okay. Possibly the castle blocked off too? We've never been there right after the holidays so we're not sure how they do the holiday overlay removal for the castle. But crowds should be low which is what we always aim for, the lowest crowds possible (although the past few years it has been busy even in off season months.) And the possibility of the winds had us re-thinking our timing.
Thanks again. I had tried looking on weather sites online for more but didn't find any clear info.

"Santa Ana conditions can exist at any time in which the Great Basin tends to be cooler than Southern California -- typically the September to March period."
But appears to be most common in October.

    Thanks again! :)

    A. No. Santa Ana conditions can exist at any time in which the Great Basin tends to be cooler than Southern California -- typically the September to March period. However, the winds garner the most attention around October because of unique aspects of Southern California climate which enhances fire danger in the autumn season.<<

I've lived through 34 years of those "Santa Ana" winds in O.C. .. and I can say ... the worst period tends to be September, October, November.

While they "can" come up in Dec, Jan, Feb, March ..... my experience is the worst time period is Sept thru Nov.
