Can I just ask you all for a nice big vertual fingers crossed. The power of LP has been so great in the past and I am here hoping we can do it again. Thank you all in advance and I will update you when I can.

Well just had an update she has come through the OP and has literaly just woken up she is not out of the woods yet as there may be bleeding or somthing as they Pyometra was huge but it is a good start. If all goes well over night I should be able to bring her home tomorrow.

That is certainly the most difficult part. Depending on how crticial she was before, and what the surgery was like, your veterinarian may keep her in the hospital on fluids and antibiotics for a day or more. Although permanent damage to the kidney's is possible, I have a good feeling about your girl. It sounds like you brought her in very soon and your veterinarian wasted no time making the diagnosis and getting her to surgery. The link that iamsally provided is a good one. I cannot stress the importance of spaying your female dogs, preferably before their first cycle. FYI, in case anybody is in the same boat the Baloo Family was (adopting/purchasing a dog with unknown spay status): there are hormone tests that can be done to determine if a dog has been spayed or not. Again, wishing the best for you Baloo Family. Please keep us updated.
