    All I know is that it's closed from Feb 5 til sometime, mid March. But, of course, that could change.
    I have no idea what they'll be doing. I always miss the RR when it's down. Even though we go so often, we just never tire of it.

    Ok, maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought there was an extensive rehab a year, or so ago, where they worked on the rails. I could be wrong, or maybe they didn't complete everything they wanted to.

    Not that anyone cares, but a month ago, I finally did it. I asked if my wife and I could sit up front with the engineers(?).
    Well, we had to wait for 2 trains, but it was the most fun I'd had in years. The two guys were so nice, funny and informative. One of them explained every detail of the train. So much so, that I didn't even have time to raise my head to look around. The other one just shook his head and made funny/sarcastic remarks about the other. It was awesome. Sorry for rambling...

    We did that Tender ride last year too and loved it. Very much recommend it. The engineers we were with were wonderful guys and very informative.

    My grandson and I did the tender ride last summer. Two adults or one adult and two kids is what I was told. You ask the conductor if it is possible and he/she will check with the engineer. You can only get on at the mainstreet station and you can't get off until you return to the starting point. I was suprised at how hot it is sitting behind the engine. The engineers are right next to it.

    Yes it is very hot behind those engines. During the summer he drinks a lot of water!

    At max two people can go on one ride. My wife and I went and although it was really fun we are both to put it bluntly fat and were not very comfortable. A parent and their kid can go very pleasantly. Kids I understand can go but not alone.
