It's good to hear an LP Podcast again - I missed you, guys! It was nice to see all of you (but Donny) at D23 Expo (even if only one at a time, just like last Expo - what's up with that?), but it's nice to hear y'all regularly on my iPod. Best of luck to you in Wisconsin, Donny. Best of luck to Doobie and FanBoy in their new jobs as well. And Rebekah, two words for you - "WDFM docent". They have children's programs, so you can bring Gideon with you (although he may be a little young just yet). Don't keep us waiting too long for the next one, folks...

It was interesting to me to hear about the merchandise issues at D23. At the recent Disneyland Half Marathon expo (Labor Day weekend, a few weeks after D23), they had similar issues for the official Disney merchandise. When I arrived on Friday around 1pm (it opened at 10am), there was a ~120 minute line for purchases, and the store had been 'temporarily closed' to help control the madness. Many items sold out extremely quickly, only to show up on eBay hours or days later. And while it may be difficult to anticipate the exact spending habits at most events, the runDisney events have the number of runners and their shirt sizes months in advance, yet these problems seem to continue (though this past expo was one of the worst by far). I wonder if the same team was responsible for both events I also thought it was interesting that you guys singled out the Dumbo vehicle as being fun to look at on the expo floor. I live in the Washington DC area, where a Dumbo is on display in the Smithsonian, so that just seems kind of average to me. I forget that it's not part of the standard Disney experience! : ) Your discussion about the NextGen stuff was also really interesting. Having done a lot of Disney Cruises, you guys tend to be more optimistic about the new system than most people, but it sounds like even you are starting to question it. It's a little unsettling to know that it's coming so soon, yet there's almost no real information about it I also thought that the comparison to a city building a new arena (new attractions) or fixing the roads (NextGen) was really interesting. But like a lot of cities, Disney needs the arena to bring traffic to the roads. I keep hearing how stale everything is, and how we're not getting much of any substance for the forseeable future (very little current construction), so I have to question if the NextGen project is being pushed at the expense of real improvments that will pull guests in, rather than nickel-and-diming the decreasing trickle of folks visiting the resort

At this point I hope they add new attractions to the OTHER parks that might draw some people away from the MK.
