In one of Alan Dean Foster's "Humanx Commonwealth" books, there's a line classifying an approaching "big bad" as a "threat to the race." "The Human race or the Thranx race?" "The race of reason." Which is to say that Mr. Poitier was certainly a member of that race as well.
Such a talent and inspiration to many. On another note... Maybe not as inspirational, but such a funny man and talented in his own sense. Another talent that will be missed.
