Like many schools and businesses this time of year they are collecting food for the local food bank. If the school collects I think six or seven barrels of food. He's going to let a student, teacher, parent and a few others that are associated with the school throw a pie at his face. He receives an anonymous letter saying how this is completely inappropriate. It's a complete waste of food. Two things here: 1. They're not actual pies, it's just whip cream in a pie tin. 2. When do these food banks ever ask for pies? Thoughts?

The sender must not have had very strong convictions anyway, if he/she had to send it anonymously. Doesn't give the principal a chance to reply directly.

Most parents need the kids to remind them, hey mom can we give that can of green beans away to the food bank. I do agree that we should not have to reward anyone for giving, but a pie in the face is a good one because it is a celebration of a goal set and achieved. And when you achiever you set goals good things come - like seeing your principle getting pie smeared all in his face
