They usually start practicing in Sept. or so and practice once a week until the show. If you are not a CM, they do not do auditions for Candlelight. Local high school choirs are invited to participate and they also practice starting very soon. There are solos in the show but they are chosen separately. Many of them are already Resort CM's but I know that there have been soloists who just do Candlelight. Even many of the musicians are already CM's but not all of them. Your screen name seems to indicate that you're a CM so look for the dates in the Line and go to practices. The CM choir generally accepts everyone who is willing to go and practice regularly. They rotate shows so that everyone gets to perform.
