I'm in the process of trying to register Alex, my wonderful, adventurous 6-year-old going-into-2nd grade daughter for a 6-day Girl Scout Camp!

I was trying to get her into the Fairy Tales camp, where they make "pixie dust" and "fairy wings" and was only 4-days, but the one I saw for August is no longer available for register.

So, we're doing Teddy Bear Camp! "Mad Tea Parties" where she learns table manners...sounds like fun, right? It's about 30-45 minutes away in Julian, but it's 6 days (5 nights) instead of the 4.

I know she'd be able to handle it. She loves the movie "The Parent Trap" (the new one) so I'm sure she'd jump at the chance to go to camp. I just have to get on the ball and request her medical exam info and financial assistance, because it's $235! Hmm...maybe I can talk to grandma :p If I didn't have to fix my car, I would be able to pay for it!!

Wish me luck..I was getting all teary-eyed just looking at the stuff she'd be doing.

I'm also volunteering to be the NEW Brownie leader here in Borrego...there isn't a troop here! So, I'm starting one. Alex has been begging me to join GS since Kindergarten!

    :-D
