Wilderness Lodge Renovations

    I've been going to WDW since 1994 and this is the first time I'll actually be staying at a Deluxe Resort. Are all of the room updates now completed at the lodge, or do I need to make sure I request a renovated room when I book?

If you are getting a Woodsview, request a room with a view of the otter pond. If you get high up overlooking the otter pond you can see the top of the Castle at MK, and watch the upper burst of the fireworks.

    The WL is wonderful and the new rooms are very well done ... but get there quickly as WDW isn't known for actually maintaining anything even after they spend tens (or hundreds) of millions of dollars.

    Also, make sure you check to see that there is no work outside your room. Because, as of last week, they were still doing work outside and scaffolding was in place in front of some balconies.

    WL is the best hotel on property IMHO... I love the lodge theme and the surrounding tree fields add greatly to that feel of being somewhere away from FL.

    I'd just take my refillable mug down to Roaring Fork, fill that baby up with icy cold Coca-Cola and find me a chair!

    I reread my post several times, and I never once found a reference to my trips to WDW revolving around beer. Can anyone just enjoy their time there with a cup of beer, without being chastised for it??? Sheesh!!! Hey, how about this, I will enjoy my lifestyle, and you enjoy yours. Do we have a deal?

    I haven't stayed there since the racetrack went in..but that noise would not be a nighttime thing would it ?
