We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Hasbro, DreamWorks, director Michael Bay and the film’s executive producer, Steven Spielberg, who has been responsible for so many of our signature rides and attractions.

Tan Hee Teck, Chief Executive Officer of Resorts World at Sentosa, the mega resort that is home to Universal Studios Singapore, said: "It is great that Asia will be the launch pad for the first Transformers attraction. Transformers was introduced to the United States in 1983 but traces its roots to Asia. Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron are familiar names to Asian audiences, who grew up with the robot toys and love the movie. When Transformers opens in Universal Studios Singapore in 2011, it will be the first of its kind in the world. We may see a surge of Transformers mania.

Larry Kurzweil, President and Chief Operating Officer, Universal Studios Hollywood, said: “Transformers represents a perfect match for our theme park: an exhilarating blockbuster with a great story, clever humor, non-stop action and flawless special effects. It has all the elements necessary to become one of the world’s most exciting theme park rides and a centerpiece attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, The Entertainment Capital of L.A.

Seems like flight simulator would be the first choice, but they talk about the tech being new, so I am taking a shot in the dark and saying it will be based upon that crane like thing that they have at Legoland, and I think they are also going to use for the Harry Potter ride.

It's already a transformer like device anyway, and it is stationary, so it won't take up a lot of real estate, which USH doesn't have anyway.

This is just my uneducated guess.

So it looks like it will be a dark ride, going into where backdraft is at Universal. As I recall, the space is pretty small for a dark ride, so I would think Singapore will get the souped up version, and Hollywood will get the truncated version.

Personally, I would rather have a kick ass flight simulator over a truncated dark ride... at least then you will still get the full ride experience.

Too bad about the robocoaster thing, it seems like a perfect match for this ride.

Kinda bad that Disney is falling so far behind.

I am REALLY happy that USS will be getting this first. I will be there in '10 soon after it opens so this just means I will have to go back in '11 for this!!!

And suddenly all the graders and construction workers came to a halt!

    Who CARES what MB thinks?!?

It is not his property, it is Universal's. Personally, I hated the film but would LOVE to see a Spidey style mega attraction.

MB has to realize his authority does not extend beyond the coke fringes of the Hollywood film making community.

Get back to making crappy $200m pieces of drek.
