And in many ways, I certainly don't act old, and I don't really plan to act like what I might have thought a 40-year-old would act like. It's kind of bizarre, like I think I should feel a certain way, but I'm not sure what that is. But, we're going out with friends tonight for dinner. I found out a couple weeks ago that a friend's SO and I share a birthday, so I talked them into coming down this weekend, and we're having a joint birthday dinner at a new place that sounds amazing. When in doubt, eat, and eat well! /cs

The new talk is 50 is the new 30. So, missy, you must be 20! And Have a Very, very Happy Birthday! They say 50 is the new 30

Back in "the old days" forty was old, but nowadays what with modern science, advanced vitamins, additives in the water, etc. one is not over the hill until 60 IMO Enjoy your dinner with family & friends. Please give us one of your terrific restaurant reviews

And, btw "They say 50 is the new 30" - this bothers me. That means I'm about to turn 13 in a month and a half here! AIEEEEEE! Not AGAIN! lol

I have pains in places where I didn't know I had places, and it isn't getting better. I don't mind being in my 50's but it isn't 30 and I am happier accepting that.

The one I'm thinking of is the empty rocking chair on the front porch. We are healthier and will live longer. And many are now free to pursue a dream they've had for a long time.

Oh...my...amazing...goodness! What an incredible place. Definitely on the expensive side so it's seriously for special occasions, but it was certainly worth it. We ended up spending a leisurely 4-hour dinner there - review (with pictures, of course) to follow hopefully later this week. Today, I got to enjoy my Disney birthday by spending a few hours at the resort - got my birthday phone message from Goofy and a bag of flour tortillas (my favorite). And, yes, it's just the number thing, I guess, so I feel like I should be feeling something, but I'm not. The aches and having to watch what I eat (doesn't mean I do as much as I should though) have been around for a while for various other reasons, so age in and of itself doesn't necessarily play into that, at least not as a sole factor. But I type this as I sit here in my comfortable Disney jammies which was my husband's birthday present to me last year. Here's the design of the fabric: http://www.colddeadfish.net/im ages/DLR/jammies.jpg. Stylish looking on a 40 year old, don't you think? /cs
