I did turn away a little during the torture scenes.

The episode was good, if not "more of the same".

Whether he's been in Chinese prison or not, you'd think people would actually listen to Jack at this point...

I still can't get over the fact that he was stabbed in the shoulder area, had some sort of rod shoved in his back etc. and was still able to dodge and weave and run a short time later. I reach for something in a weird way and I'm wincing for days just reaching to put on my seatbelt. Maybe that's why he didn't put on his seatbelt :)

My biggest problem is the seeming need 24 has to have a shocking, jaw dropping moment every episode. So the most loyal of characters suddenly become traitors, secondary characters become murderers just to add tension (Kim's boss when she's a nanny), etc. I'm really ok with an episode or two that's more methodical and slow to let the plot develop and unfold. I don't need someone getting shot or something blown up every episode.

In terms of quality season 2 is my least favorite. The second half of season 3 are some of the best episodes the show has ever done. The last two seasons have just been terrific.

Very gripping episode. Was it a nuclear bomb or just a meltdown in season 4?

I actualy found Bauer killing Curtis the most shocking and emotional part of the episode. The show continues to provide lots of moral condrums, from the shooting to everything about racism and treatment of citizens during wartime.

As for Jack's escape...I had just sat down and started on my first chicken wing. My wife had to leave the room. That was brutal.

    And last night...oh my goodness.

The killing of Curtis just seemed weird to me. I know that Jack was expected to do it but maybe he could have placed the shot in an area where Curtis would have survived. Hey they do that on the soap operas all the time :)

Anyone else watch Numb3rs? Don't you wish Peter MacNichol was really flying around in space and not being all sleazy on 24? :)

It was shocking with Curtis! I knew something was going to happen though with the way Curtis was acting.

O.K. the ending shocked me too.....didn't think they would actually detonate the thing!

LOL, it's funny, I am so used to him as "Biscuit" from Ally McBeal. I don't like the sleazy him.
