Do like the name though ... Meg ... how nice. As to her qualifications ... well, she seems to have loads of experience with the company, but most of it is in Human Resources and Finance. I wonder if she ever held a park ops position.

But since Jay is doing such a wretched job running the parks division, one must cast a wary eye (or two) upon any of his exec hires.

He wants kiss-ups and yes-men ... let's hope Meg is her own woman.

But gotta hand it to WDW still... with a hispanic CM population of 96.3%, they still manage to choose a white bread American to run the show.

Maybe Pepito would have been a better choice ... Jay Rasulo likes puppets he can control. I am more than a bit concerned that this is still business as usual at TWDC, much like Eisner's last decade.

That's AMAZING!!! Outside of housekeeping, the great majority of CM I've come in contact with look and sound like "white bread Americans". That must be one helluva melting pot you have down there in Florida.

This is kind of important as this person is the biggest hire at WDW in a over a decade.

On the face of it though, if one believes that she is being placed more as a facilitator for those above than a leader for those below, this is not so much big news as it is a footnote.

I am hispanic, and did not notice such a preponderance of hispanic CM's during my last visit to WDW 3 years ago. In fact, I think that were in the minority, except at San Angel Inn.

I agree, my feelings are that Crofton is there to continue managing up. The way Jay has his cartel setup she will probably be their Lieutenant for the entire back-office.

For Jim Lewis, meh. He came in when Disney started hiring out, it's more of the same, the same culture, the same m.o. He didn't forget to mention "brand" so all is right with the world I guess. Since his realm is DVC it's not that earth shattering.

I think, sadly, it says that Iger's parks strategy is very much going to be in line with Eisner's last decade.

    That's more than a footnote.

That's sure what it appears like.

    DL? Puppet in Grier. Check.
    DLP? Puppet in Holz. Check.
    WDW? ...

You can blame the consultants for the whole branding BS.

I guarantee you if you went back and reviewed documents and transcripts you'd never see that word associated with Dsney until the rise of the consultants in the mid-90s..

BTW, anyone see how they're going to destroy ABC Sports, which has one of broadcasting's great histories, to BRAND sports programming as 'ESPN on ABC'?

Amazing. I wonder if these are the same consultants that told Macy's that folks in Chicago wanted to lose Marshall Field's. Or the ones that told AA that the TWA name was passe ...
