With those four simple notes, it is able to convey so much emotion and so many different ways. It's one of the few consistent things throughout the film and really pulls the whole thing together. It's not the type of soundtrack I'd want on my iPod or anything, but it just fits the film so incredibly well that I think they should get recognition for it.

If nothing else, I hope it does well at the Grammys, though that usually seems to be based more in commercial success than the artistic merit of the works a lot of the time.

And he also did "Star Trek" this year, so his profile is high. Might even get two nominations.

And Pixar has a good track record of nominations (but, alas, no wins) in the Original Score category, with 6 out of 10 films recognized ("Toy Story", "A Bug's Life", "Monsters, Inc.", "Finding Nemo", "Ratatouille", "WALL-E").

By the by, the "Hannah Montana" song has been disqualified by the Grammys in the Song from a Movie category, most likely because it wasn't written specifically for the film. It has been replaced with "All is Love" from "Where the Wild Things Are".

Hard copies exist, they just weren't sold to the general public. Haunt ebay and have a big checkbook.
