Are there any Epcot CMs on the board that may know more???

Personally, if there really is "noise", I hope this is the beginning of long-needed attention to this once great attraction (ride and post-show cir. 1980s). If there is a plan to re-open the 2nd floor any time soon, perhaps we are being teased and tested.

Many fans of the original configuration of JII have always spoken of the fond memories of the 2nd floor. Maybe this is phase one of a series of plans to move ahead with the re-Imagineering of JII. If so, this may also be a test to see just how seroious many "fans" are about supporting a reincarnation of JII.

I doubt the August reference is in regard to an opening, but rather an announcement of sorts. Here's to hoping we can once again venture upstairs, have fun, and get a great view of Future World!

She did tell me that the rainbow hallway was still up there and that someday it would reopen. Who knows.

DVC_dad that is a totally irresponsible way for a parent to behave. It amazes me that guests at the parks feel they can happily ignore CM instructions and signage. It bothers me immensely when I see guests wandering around backstage. It is dangerous and stupid. What did you expect to find up there? It could have been a major safety issue if it was a construction site.

None of the 11 parks around the world do a good job of preventing guests from wandering around backstage and in restricted areas and I wish it wasn't the case. It seems when people go on vacation they lose all common sense.

I don't know the stairs in question, but there could have easily not been any sign. Also, he clearly said that when the CM approached them they obeyed. Although I don't think it is the best idea to wander around in strange places, it is possible that it appeared to be a place open to guests.

He did say he "hopped the rope" which led me to believe he felt entitled to go up there.

The worst offenders are those that seem to feel it is appropriate to go wandering into Wonders of Life when it is blatantly closed for business.

Oh please. Like DVC_Dad was going to run around and play upstairs -- what's wrong with a little peek? Call it 'DVC_Dad's Florida Adventure' :)

[I'd have done the same thing DVC_Dad, and have before]

And in defense of DVC_dad, it's not like he jumped out of his vehicle on 'Universe of Energy' or something.

    He walked up some stairs.

each circumstance beign different but I also am on that train. My now 21 year old always missed the last week of school to go to Florida --( you know the last week when the books are already turned in and there isprecious little learning going on) - she was always an honor student and now graduating college soon and on the Dean's list ( while being an athlete as well) - so it certainly didn;t hurt her ( also a few times around labor day for a few days) -- my now 12 year old following the same regimen and is in the gifted program....

Most teachers and the principles here have had zero issue withit, although as she got older - she had homework to do before she returned to stay caught up..

now if my kid was struggling with school in general...then I would surely reconsider...

    Back to topic:

I'm excited to hear about ANY update or change to the Imagination pavilion, it's such a sad area these days.

BTW - also agree with taking kids out of school unless they are falling behind. Sadly, it's almost getting to the point in the UK where it's a criminal offence. We are also being asked why we don't want to send our 3 year old to school yet. nanny state Britain.

LOL Dave! Good rationalization there - maybe you should work for Imagineering. ;)
