A new garden would be a nice touch.

oh..oh or a classic soda shop. (that would be better at Pop, right?)

Plenty, I am sure. The one time we went there it was early evening when we arrived, so we went to DtD. That night we did grab a burger at Mickey D's. That was the only time that trip of course.

And with the ongoing economic crisis I expect even more vacationers will be cutting costs. They will be cutting corners on lodging and meals.

I am always puzzled by this elitist attitude. If you don't like Mickey D's then by all means have one of those disgusting, rubbery burgers they sell in the parks for 2X the price. Some people really can't afford to eat Disney's cuisine, and no amount of pixie dust will change that.

We never bring a picnic cooler to DLR, but I don't look down at those who do nor do I advocate eliminating the picnic areas outside of the parks either. For some folks it is all they can afford to do.

I'm not sure that the one @ that locations will make a huge difference esp now that many folks use DME.

I'm pretty sure you had to walk to it from AS unless you had a car. You can take the bus to the one @ DtD.

Now I know that is a distance but it is doable.

There isn't a thing wrong with saving a buck where you can. If more folks had that mind set perhaps we wouldn't be in the economical pickle were in.;)

Reasonably priced food, coffee, juice and soda. But I usually hit the one just accross the street from Downtown Disney is the Crossroads Shopping Center. Oh and fast reasonably priced breakfasts too!

I don't have a problem with McDonalds per se (I eat there all the time..too much in fact), but that particular one is REALLY an eyesore and in absolutely the wrong place! NOT what you want to see when driving into DisneyWorld.

I do recall now seeing that McDonalds. Tt did seem out of place, but really, once you are past it its out of sight, out of mind. Now if it were right next door to a park (or inside it!) that's different.

Me too. but not everyone can afford to eat on property. When in DL we always have a meal at the BB. And at WDW we like to eat at one of the many restaurants at EPCOT. But not everyone can afford that.
