She signed autographs all evening and displayed the same cute personality that must have made Walt interested in using this little 4 year old back in 1923. She was just as tiny and petite and full of energy. She said Walt and Roy didn't have a studio so they shot the Alice Comedies in her home. Walt would read a story and tell her to "look scared or look happy" while Roy filmed it! She said her mother allowed this because she always had faith in Walt. ANd she said "I was 4 and just having fun." As a teenager Walt asked her to dance the jitterbug and then she asked us if we wanted her to dance the jitterbug and she stood up and danced and with that the audience gave her a standing applause. She had that special charm and personality that makes a performer a delight for a lifetime. She also liked to say...It wasn't started by a Mouse it was started by me! I wonder if this was her last public appearance. Funny occurence if true since she started here in Kansas City.
