You can browse through your play lists, artists or whatever just like on your iPod and it is fast. it will display the info on the screen and you control it with the head unit. Plus the sound is direct and just like a CD. Pioneer has a decent controller but it is still a breakout box so that is something you have to consider when installing. I have a clarion and their adapters have gotten a lot better. It ranks about 2nd in my book. I would stay away from Sony and Panasonic and JVC as their car stereo business has fallen behind the times and their production quality is of lower quality.

I would definately recommend those over Fm transmitters. I actually am covered both ways as my head unit also has an auxilary in so I just plug in a headphone jack and am ready to go.

I tried the cd thing when I had the iPod but keeping cds in the car, even with MP3s on them still gets to be a hastle. To each their own of course, but cds in the my car are pretty much no more. I still have the 6 disc changer in the car but I have 6 discs I never change in there.
