The song started off "Good Mommy Night, Good Daddy Night" and went on to have lyrics like "be sure to brush your bed and go right to teeth" It also had a song about some weird imaginary creature that was described as appearing around the room. Like I say I know its really random, but google searches with those lyrics and amazon.com searches haven't yielded any results so I thought perhaps someone hear would actually recall the album. You all were so helpful in helping in me find a longtime family favorite recipe -orange chicken (not asian style). I made it a couple of weeks ago and it worked well. Needs to be tweaked a bit to reflect the family recipe more but it was good. Rebekah.

Hi Rebekah...I'm pretty sure I know the record, had it as a kid, and remember that exact same lyric ("be sure to brush your bed and go right to teeth"). It was from, what I believe was titled "The Richard Scarry Record". It was a record by, or about the stories of, childrens book writer / illustrator Richard Scarry (I'm sure you'll remember him, if not, look up some of his books, you will then). We had the record and my brother and I listened to it regularly. I've looked at my mom's house and I think it is long gone, unfortunately. I have been searching the internet and the occasional vintage record shop for years looking for it with zero luck! I do remember (or am pretty sure I remember!) what it looked like....it was red, and the cover was a Richard Scarry illustration of a phonograph record in black, maybe with a little picture of one of his people or creatures, and the title of the record and some other text in his hand-done font/typeface. I will continue to search, and if found, will alert you here.
