We remembered you fondly at the LP meet in California last week. Please do not be a stranger.

As someone else said, "How's your balance?" This is important, but my guess is its fine or you probably won't even consider surfing.
Do you participate in other balance sports like skiing, skating, skateboarding, and the like?

As for other sports, I used to ALWAYS roller skate, and I still own and at least once or twice a year use my Oberhamer ice skates. LOVE them!

So, hmm.... this lets me get just a bit closer to deciding to get up that early and drop $140 at Typhoon Lagoon. I know I'd never surf in ocean water, so TL is about the only shot I'll ever have. :)

I know with my age(37) my left knee sometimes has a hard time. Old sports injury.

Another tip. I am no surfer, but my uncle tried to teach me. There is something you can practice at home to see if you are up for it. Lay face down on the floor, and try to roll yourself forward, up from a laying to standing position. If you can do this and balance, then you are likely to have a good run.

Anyhow, if I can get in, I'm going to do it - my knees are fine, I love to skate (quads, roller skates, and ice), and if I don't do it this trip, I'll do it on a future visit. Thew more I think about this, the more fun I'm sure it will be when I finally get to do it. :)
