Sustainable Narratives of Place-making: Joe Rohde, Walt Disney Imagineering, Presents Expedition Everestâ„¢
Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place

How has story development been adapted to a sustainable ethic of architectural space and place-making? Joe Rohde of Walt Disney Imagineering will speak directly to the role of theme as a prime mover of content development rather than an appliqué to pre-existing programmed space by presenting Disney's new attraction, Expedition Everest™. This attraction offers unique opportunities to discuss the narrative design process and its relation to international conservation efforts.

Joe Rohde is an Executive Designer and Vice President with Walt Disney Imagineering. He is currently in charge of design and development for DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM, Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando Florida. Joe has led conceptualization, design, and production for DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM since its inception in 1990.

OK, this we can definitely agree on, Lee!

Joe is the reason why I love DAK so much. I love to walk around, take pictures, soak up the atmosphere. Yes, it could use more attractions/rides. I blame the bean counters for lack thereof. (I also blame them for lack of Beastly Kingdomme, but that's another rant for another day.)

And I agree that someone from LP should go to this event!

Doesn't Doobekah have some kind of slush fund/laundered money from the LP Store for this? ;^)

    The earring MUST STAY!

    THE EARRING MUST STAY!

    It's Joe's Mojo!

    It frightens the Accountaneers!

Management leaves Joe the heck ALONE to work his MAGIC and his GREATNESS because of THE EARRING!!

    Remove the Source of Joe-nessâ„¢?
    That's crazy talk!!

I am 83 minutes to NYC from my home here in Connecticut.

Last weekend I went to MOMA to see the PIXAR exhibit - it was great !

DAK is the best - I would love and try to make this event. If I do, I will post a Trip Report

I am so glad to hear this as I'm going on Saturday. I was wondering whether it was worth the effort as I could really find anything about it. That is a huge relief. Thanks Dennis.
