Better to check out THE BOYS or WAKING SLEEPING BEAUTY (though as a Disney buff, I'm still glad to have seen WALT AND EL GRUPO).

The Disney tie-in makes it that much more interesting to me, especially considering how much I like Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros. I liked Walt and El Grupo and am anxious to see it again.

When the movie was originally released, several local boards of censorship objected to it as being in poor taste (yes, Snow White was banned in Boston!) so Disney quietly removed it from subsequent prints. I don't even know if the animation still exists, and Disney sure ain't talking, but the audio is still very much out there, since the RCA Victor soundtrack 78s were mastered before the verse was cut. From "Make Mine Music," a package feature with no set storyline, they cut a segment called "The Martins and the Coys." The bootleg of "Song of the South" that I have has that segment as a hidden special feature. When I saw the segment for the first time, my only comment was "That was bad."
