I am trying to get some ideas about where they should stay. I know there are a variety of options, but I have always stayed onsite. In my opinion, for them to have enough room to really be comfortable, they would need a suite in the DL resort, and the prices for that for such a long time are pretty high.

So I am also pricing out some other options for them. The first I have investigated is Hojo's. They have a great looking 1 bedroom suite, 700 square feet, two bathrooms, with a fridge and microwave that would be wonderful! The price sounds like it would be good too, although I couldn't get an exact price without dates.

I know I might be able to get the LP discount at Hojo's, or a entertainment card discount or a AP discount, but I'm not sure if they will be available in April.

Are there any other local hotels I should be sure to check out? I'm planning on investigating the Best Western Paradise Pier, and the Embassy Suites that I have seen mentioned on the boards.

As they will be here for a long time with little kids, I want to make sure there is a nice pool, an area for adults to relax, some place to store food and a microwave, as well as a room large enough to accomodate 5 people comfortably.

Any information or additional ideas you guys have would be great! I am so excited to be planning this trip.

My husband and I will be coming as well, and so will my parents, but we certainly won't be staying in the same room, and don't necessarily need to be in the same hotel. My husband and I might not be able to tear ourselves away from a room in the GCH, but who knows, Hojo's looks pretty nice!

Trip Advisor reviews are very postive.

It came in handy with kids. We had one that still needs to take naps and whoever was with her put her in the one room and went in the other with the connecting door open, so she could sleep and they wouldn't have to be perfectly quiet. Captain Kidd's is where they serve the free breakfast. Its very simple continental style breakfast and we only went there once. We found it much easier to grab a granola bar and some juice and head to the park. Plus we had a good supply of microwaveable foods and snacks to put in our hip packs.

    Really nice free breakfast!
You have to take the ART or drive which was the only drawback for us as we like to be within walking distance.

I personally would not stay at the Embassy Suites with more than 2 adults in a room. I've only been there once, but with only one regular bed, one adult will have to sleep on the sofa bed, and the one in our room was extremely uncomfortable. I'd rater stay in a regular hotel room with 2 queens!

You should always be able to get a 15% discount at HoJos, AFAIK, either LP, AP or Entertainment. All are 15% (except when the have the Ent. super discount of 50%!). Unless they block super-busy convention times, but you wouldn't want to come then anyway.

I've looked at some of the other hotels' websites, and so far I think I'm most impressed with Hojo's. I think being able to walk to the park will be important, and I like the look of the rooms and grounds there better than at the BWPP. I think my sister and mother in law will like to be somewhere where they can enjoy sitting out by the pool and reading or whatever.

The only thing I feel like would really be helpful for them that isn't offered at Hojo's would be a true kitchenette with a stove of some sort like they have at extended stay hotels. Does anyone know of a place that can offer that within walking distance?

There is also a 15% discount for anyone booking a 3 night stay, until Dec 25.

(I just went to the HoJo site and checked on discounts! BTW there are NEW dates added for the 50% E rates!)

I have heard some positives about BWPPI, but does anyone know if the breakfast is actually provided by Captain Kidd's? Or is the breakfast just located there? With all I've read about Captain Kidd's, I don't think I'd want to chance my vacation by ingesting that food!
