Last year because of the 25th Anniversary the Resort decided to keep Jubilation going during Halloween but that was down to the Parade being a big part of the Anniversary celebrations. But fear not Halloween is a great time to visit, although expect crowds. The Halloween Parade which takes on a new theme every year is a lot of fun and is usually presented in a day and night version. Also Tokyo DisneySea is also getting in on the action this year and will also be presenting its own Halloween event. Unfortunately you will miss Jubilation, but I still think Halloween is a great time to visit for unique TDR entertainment. And if your that desperate for your friends to see Jubilation, just get them to visit DCA on a Weekend, where a lot of the Pixar floats are copied, but with a better soundtrack.

Originally Posted By Malin The Halloween Event can really bring in the crowds, including Weekdays. You will be fine for crowds at the start of your trip as the Resort will be in a quiet period between Summer and Halloween, but once the Halloween event starts expect big crowds at Tokyo Disneyland, especially at the start when all the Annual Passholders will flock to the park to check out the new parade, and to buy all the latest merchandise. Tokyo DisneySea is from my experience during this time usually more manageable, but the park will also be staging for the first time its very own Halloween event, which may peak interest. But you should be able to still get a lot done if you stick to the typical survival tips. Pre purchase your tickets in advance and arrive at the park gates up to an hour before opening. Upon entering the park your best getting a FastPass straight away and heading for something like Pooh or Splash Mountain. Most people visiting the park will have intentions to visit either the new Monsters Inc attraction, the Haunted Mansion or the Halloween parade. So getting a FastPass for the Haunted Mansion should be a priority, as will be finding a spot for the parade, up to an hour before start time. Regarding Monsters my advice is to check it out during the day that your visiting pre Halloween, when the crowds should be a bit lighter. Head to the attraction first thing and don't bother with FastPass, but head to the stand by line instead. It may be all the way over by Space Mountain, but the queue will move quite quickly, as FastPass will not be slowing things down yet.

Most guests will be camped out from park opening until the final mini-parade in the afternoon.

I recall many days where the lines for Thunder and Splash got so long that they ran into each other (we're not talking 2 rides right next to each other either!), and lots of street shows were cancelled because of crowd management issues..something I do not recall happening during other busy times (or not much, anyway).

But still if your able to handle monster crowds than TDL during Halloween can be one of the most rewarding times of the year to visit. Fun parade usually performed three times a day, including alternative night time shows using same floats but differnt theme. Haunted Mansion featuring Jack Skelington, only second Disney park to host this unique overlay. Cast Members handing out free sweets to the Guest, although I think this was cut back last year. Lots of decorations to wow at and even exclusive food and merchandise options. Regarding the first day of the Event, not only will it be crowded with the hardcore fanatics, but also bare in mind the last couple of years the opening day has been a wash out with rain canceling most of the Halloween parades for the day. Also I never mention it before but I don't think you should change your dates around Jubilation. The general feedback for the parade is mix. Its not a huge suscess, and its likely to be with us for another four years.

Originally Posted By Mr X ***yes it means buying 2 2day tickets which is more expensive, but we think it's worth it.*** I think that's a smart plan. It's unfortunate that the TDR multiday passports are so very inflexible. It would surely prevent me from EVER buying one...all I can think is, what if someone gets ill for a day or a terrible storm comes around? Then you've simply WASTED your ticket purchase since it's "use it or lose it" with consecutive days required no less! Not to mention that, as fun as TDR is, it's nice to take a break and spread things out and enjoy a day in Tokyo somewhere in there instead of four days in a row. If they'd even made it "seven days from first admission" I would think it far more reasonable.

Absolutely a great time. It can be a little crowded, but it's certainly not the worst time of year to go (and I've gone every year for the past five). Be a smart park-goer and you'll do fine. Be online at the gate 30 to 45 minutes before opening and get your "wish-list" of high-interest rides straight before you enter: 1. Monsters Inc. Ride it immediately. 2. Pooh's Hunny Hunt. Ride it immediately. 3. Get a FastPass for Splash Mountain or Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare, then continue on and ride Big Thunder Mountain. 4. Etc. Eventually, even using FastPass properly, the crowd will overwhelm any plan by about 1 or 2 pm. That's when you do The Tiki Room, Country Bears, and wait on the 30 minute lines for Jungle Cruise, Western River Railroad. There is never a line for Star Tours or Honey I Shrunk Your Mama, either. If you love Space Mountain or Buzz Lightyear, adjust the schedule accordingly. Buzz has particularly long lines, but seems to be almost identical to the version in California. Do Pirates in the evening when the line dissipates. These plans always work for me.
