Recently Disney has put rides on the backseat in its marketing, especially since the Show Your Disney Side campaign started. There's also been a noticeable shift in patk programming with a greater emphasis on interactivity and customizable experiences like MyMagic +, games, and elaborate character meet & greet venues. This new Frontierland thing seems to fit right into the trend.

Of course, who knows - if word of mouth is good, I might even try it. I'm cool with them trying something different; sounds like it's unobtrusive to the guest who isn't interested in it, and possibly fun for those who want to do it. My only concern is: does it monopolize the Golden Horseshoe? Wasn't there supposed to be a new show for that venerable venue? I'd hate to lose it to game space.

I also like the fact that this is all interaction with people and not just video screens such as some of the games we have seen installed at WDW.

Stuff like this is always so much fun for my kids, but then when they are done coloring the page or folding the airplane they want to keep it forever and ever. So I'm stuck carrying it around for the rest of the day and then finding a permanent home for it for the rest of our lives. Maybe I just birthed a couple of horders. But I have to sneak throw things away a lot of the time. lol

He's referring to the good ol' days at Magic Mountain when they were an independent park, not part of any larger chain like Six Flags. Spillikin Corners was in the back upper portion of the park where Cyclone Bay is now.
