Originally Posted By FerretAfros I've experienced those rails at the bottome of the drop firsthand. When I was there with my highschool, we ended up in a group of 9 (we found somebody walking around alone, so we adopted him), and we got to the loading area and said we had 9 and could be split up any way they wanted to do it. Instead of splitting us up between the logs, they crammed us all into one, with three people in the front row (I think we all saw where it was going at that point). It was me and two fairly small girls, but it was still 3 people where there were only supposed to be two. We went through the majority of the ride and stayed fairly dry (I think because there were rails like that everywhere). Then we went down the big drop. Got to the bottom and we were slowing down and water was spraying everywhere, but luckily not really on us. We were all pleasently surprised about that. Then we got to the end of the rails and we were still flying. The front of the log hit the bottom of the channel, and the top in the front went under the water for a second. This caused a nice little waterfall to pour into our laps, and all over our cameras and bags of stuff that we had bought earlier. Out of instinct, we grabbed it all and threw it at the people in the row behind us, so it wouldn't get any worse (turns out, it was just us that got wet). So, those rails definately helped control our splash, since I think we would have been underwater the entire time otherwise. (And I really regret not buying that picture)
