I don't know if the news is true or not. I know that imdb isn't to reliable.

I think there might be a dog or a squirel in the movie, too. Anyway, we'll eventually find out--assuming us Cauldron girls aren't taken away to live in Nursing Homes by then. I mean, just look how many times they keep pushing this movie back and back and back for a release date!

Claire and Vincent are modern day teens who are transformed into Rapunzel and her Prince in the script version of 2005.

The squirrel is Rapunzel who is tourned into a squirrel by the old witch and the dog is the real Prince...

In 2006 the plot has been changed according to Jim Hill media and www.awn.com
So I don't know if there will be the modern day premise in the final version.

Could be Bastion the name of the giant that all people has seen in one concept art? Or Bastion could be tha real prince tourned into a dog, if Disney hasn't change the storyline?

I mean, I thought they'd decided to do a more straight-forward telling of RAPUNZEL and that this was the reason it's been pushed back for a release date so many times--because they weren't going to use any modern day teens to tell the story. And there was no giant in the Original story. They should save the giant for when the get around to doing Jack and the Beanstalk. I hope Bastion turns out to be the name of either the prince or a bird that flies up to Rapunzel's tower window.

I must to say that I agree with you and I also hope to watch a great classical version of Rapunzel with no modern day references...
