Our neighbor works at the dollar store and they have all kinds of really cute Disney stuff. He just got us some really big pensils. We also love the wash clothes that are packed so nice and small and when they get in water they become a full size towel.

I also plan to order them each a page of character stamps from zazzle and pick up some postcards at the Disney store to go with them.

Other ideas- POTC action figures, Cars vehicles, character pencils and notebooks, character coffee mugs with packets of hot cocoa tucked in them.

Of course the dollar store always has little trinkets too.

My boys are getting Tinkerbell gifts this year for the first time. I got them POTC keychains from Kmart ($3.99 each) and each a Peter Pan figurine that were on sale at Toys R Us. For my niece and nephew....he is getting a POTC keychain also and she is getting Little Mermaid keychain (also from Kmart). I also got him a Woody figurine and she is getting a small baby Cinderella doll.

We are not doing Tinkerbell gifts each night though. One night I am going to have milk & cookies delivered to the room and have them be from Tinkerbell as well.

Giving the boys their own Disney Dollars to spend is a great idea as well!

Remember you don't have to have everything ahead of time. Name badges are great for kids.

Do your boys like baths? How about a little bag with Disney themed toiletries to use at the hotel? Tooth brush, toothpaste, washcloth, maybe a tub toy...

A beachball or other inflatible for the pool

    Autograph book and pen

Mouse ears with their names embroidered on the back

i also have 2 boys (turning 3 and 5 this month).
I got them Cars pjs on disneyshopping.com, mickey rubicks cube clicky puzzle things at Disney store, disney dollars, 50th anniv pop up books on ebay and mickey baseball jerseys.
I really wish I still had time to get trading pins on ebay but we leave in 9 days.
I still need to get them sticker books for all the waiting around at the airport.
I also called vacation planning and ordered the milk & cookies, rice krispie treats and chocolate covered strawberries to be delivered at night.
I still need to decide which amenities basket to order. probably the birthday basket.
This is their 1st trip to DL and I wanted to make it special. I might have gone a little over board but that's what I would have loved as a kid. : )

We are not going to DL until March but I am already starting to try prepare them... They are both, not very adventursome, lets say, We just got back from the Oregon Coast and we watched the Carasoul. but neither of them would go on..... Anyways back to DL we are staying at the DLH (i think, a friend of mine is insisting that DGC is a better choice, they have bunk beds)
I am so excited over all the extras, I cant wait to hear how they go... Please keep me informed with any great boy stuff... Because I TOO, will go overboard.......

I have read almost every book about Disneyland that I could get at the library.
I also checked out a Disneyland Sing Along video which my kids loved. When we watched it I would point out certain rides and points of interest. There is a whole bit they do on Tom Sawyer's Island, so now the boys want to go check it out.
I'm game, but I could be riding Indiana Jones! Maybe I'll send them over there with daddy and uncle Jimmy : )

We also requested the DL vacation planning package, which is free, you can request it from Walt Disney Travel. It takes FOREVER(6 weeks is a loooong time when you can't wait to get it!) for them to send it so order it now.
They have a DVD which shows all the things to do, rides, dining and shopping.
They get really pumped up when we watch that one.
Also, there is a 20% off coupon in the packet that is well worth it.

I have read on many posts that GCH has very small rooms, while they are beautiful, still quite small. Personally, I don't really care which hotel I stay at as long as I'm on Disney property!
I always stayed at nearby motels, so this is a treat for me too!
I will try to keep a travel journal during the kids naps while we're there so I can come back with a detailed trip report. I love reading trip reports! Got lots of great ideas from those.

My 3 yr old is not very adventuresome either, so I have a feeling he will be sitting out on alot of rides.
You are brave to do DL with 2 kids by yourself. I'm not sure if I would do it....Of course I would!!
Anything for my babies : )

I think AAA has the best rate so far 7 days at DLH with a 5 day PH $2059.00 DGC was about $700 more... I have tried every web site and trick to get the price lower but I guess this is it, I am not willing to stay any where but Disney on this go around..

I also spent hours searching every possible travel website I could find and ultimately AAA was the best deal. I also checked out Mouse for Less travel and Mouse Ears and asked them if they could beat the AAA price. They both said I should go with AAA since they could not give me a better price.
The clincher for me was the enhanced Fast pass which is ending in january 2007.
I was reading a post about bidding on travel, but most of the hotels were pretty far away from DL. I also wanted to stay at DLR this time as it's my sons' 1st time there. Maybe next time I'll try bidding on hotel rooms for $50 but with kids I don't want any bad surprises.

The coupon is for 20% off a $100 purchase at select Disney merchandise stores and World Of Disney. I figured $100 is easy to spend at World of Disney.
I also signed my Mom up for the Vac package so I can have her coupon. : )

$2059 sounds good for 5 days, does that include airfare?

Alice in Wonderland is fun when you spot the Cheshire Cat.

And they change along with Casey Jr.'s I Think I Can.

SuzieQ- I've been pushing Disney movies on my kids too for the last few months.
They just want to watch Disney channel.
They didn't care for Roger Rabbit(I was trying to help them with understanding Toontown).

He saved me a lot of $$.

I tried looking at airfare/park hoppers/hotels seperately to see if it was any cheaper. The airfare at Southwest and Alaska were about $675 for all 4 of us to fly and when I booked with AAA the airfare was about $75 less.
