At about 5 p.m. today the first members of the public boarded the new Mark VII Monorail at Disneyland’s Tomorrowland station.

While some people who went on the first red monorail trip seemed to think it was just another monorail, some guests were thrilled to be on the new train.

“It was air conditioned and it was pretty,†said 8-year-old Bethany Masten from Sacramento. Masten and her family were on the first public trip with the new monorail."

Perhaps the story of those riding "the air conditioned monorail" were riding in the front (??).

I heard that too, but the place I heard typically is a negative disney website, so I am glad to hear that the imagineers found a way.

I'm glad that they have found a way as well, but the site was not wrong in reporting the monorail's problems becoming operational. This monorail was supposed to debut in February, you know.

It has increased air flow but the cars are noisier now.

Needless to say it wasn't very comfortable. There isn't any air conditioning but there are a lot of fans blowing air around to help. Some from under my bench and some up above. The lighting was a nice blue coming from under each bench. A strange flaw that I happened to sit in front of was a placard with the monorail logo on it was installed backwards. There is a photo of it in the link below. I checked the other cars on my way out and none of the others were flipped this way. Leaving from tomorrowland, the pilot seemed to really fly. It was a fast smooth ride to the hotel. He seemed to take it slower on the return trip, I don't know if this was the timing or turns that it has to take. Overall I enjoyed the ride. This belongs over in the things I've never done at DL thread, but hang on to your hats for this shocking confession: I've only ridden the Monorail once. Looking forward to repeatedly remedying that problem soon! :) Plus, I hope to ride up in the nose/tail cone of of these days, too.

VERY interesting about the backwards logo, nsdodgers! It's like finding a mistake in one of the coins at the Mint! (Kind of :)

Actually, it was someone on THIS discussion board who mentioned it first... about the A/C.

But in either case, they appear to be right!
