I am just watching the closing ceremonies to end the games. I watched many of the events on TV.

I just want to say, and no matter what anyone else says: I am proud to be Canadian!

Our Tv commentary was very supportive of Canada and showcased the best of the country.

Even though I'm an Aussie, I found myself hoping Canada would win in any event that we didn't have a hope in. :)

Those on the west coast, watching on the ridiculous tape delay, aren't aware of this yet. NBC decided to cut away before the end of the Closing Ceremonies, in order to show the Marriage Ref. After that show is over, THEN they'll come back and show the final portion of the Closing Ceremonies.

The closing ceremonies were fantastic up until the end of the Michael Bouble dancing Mounties, giant beaver musical extravaganza ! I thought the gag about the broken torch was great and the Shatner speech was awesome ! There were a lot of super awesome parts for sure.

Didn't quite love the closing ceremonies though. Some nice ideas but the comedy didn't really work for me at all - I found it kinda painful. It was great to see Shatner, Catherine O'hara, and especially Michael J. Fox though - I just wish the script wasn't so hokey.

(I love that Catriona Le May Doan finally got her chance to light the torch.)

Sports-wise, I've always liked the hockey & short-track. I thought the snowboard and ski-cross events were pretty fun additions.

Kudos to the US for pushing us so hard in hockey. That was an amazing game.

Whoa. I kept waiting for the punch line...and it never came.

The closing ceremonies were interesting. I love how Catherine O'Hara came out like a curling stone with sweepers in front of her--funny stuff. Neil Young, good.
I look forward to the Summer Olympics.

He should have some good stories when he gets back from World Cup.

We played our hand well. We shut off the TV at the start of the show they were promoting and then programmed the DVR for the end of the ceremony. This way, we can FF through the commercials later on tonight.

And Neil Young was horrible. (I don't like him so there's that.)

The competitions were absolutely Marvelous , from the USA capturing the most medals ever, from the Canadians capturing the most Gold Medals in History to the young Swedish gal who broke her ribs and punctured her lung , yet still fought and won Silver . There were many sad times for all the Athletes in 2010, with the stunning loss of Nadal from Georgia, with the loss of a Athlete's mother , a friend of a USA Athlete, numerous injuries along the way. Everyone bonded to-gether here at home and from across the World , to become One , just an amazing feeling. These games will go down in History to become one of the Greatest Winter Olympics ever. Canada will no longer be known as that frozen tundra any longer...the closing Ceremonies were very good, loved seeing one of my favourite singers Alana Morrisette, sad thing is it is now over for another four years.....hope the next one is more exciting than this one. Canadian horns and Flags are still flying everywhere to-day, still celebrating Canada's Gold medal hockey win...yesterday, it was a great game...as was the bronze medal game...hope the next olympics are even better than ours were...what a sight that would be to behold...I know that everyone is proud of their Athletes, were sure proud of ours..Amazing games, just Amazing...Hope the Para- Olympians do just as well...God Luck..now if i spelt anything wrong, it is not because i have long nails, ha ha ha...just teasing u r s u L A L A ....: ) hope to meet you again next christmas..nice meeting you this past one...
