Let's put all of our excuses aside and start fresh for the 2009 year to come. Let's lend each other an ear to get through the hurdles that occur while trying to focus on a better you. Although LPers love each other as they are, we all know that some of us can use a little tweeking when it comes to our curves. And I, for one, vow to have better curves instead of floppy ones LOL!! As Obama says....YES WE CAN!!

My goal is: 1) To get to 150 lbs or better 2) To attempt to do it within a year's time 3) To finally fit into a sexy Halloween costume

I also would like to start running again (foot permitting) maybe aim for a 5K in May or June. For sure I will start walking tomorrow and the Wii Fit. This is a big year for me: I turn 50, celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary, and I'm thinking I may even have a kid getting married this year too.

But I hate coffee with Splenda in it, and find that coffee without sugar just isn't pleasurable. Do you all think that if I'm really structured with my sugar intake in other foods, but allow myself just one packet of sugar a day it will hinder my weightloss?

I've been eating up all the bad food in the house today. How's that for shooting myself in the foot. (Not my bad foot! It hurts enough without added injury!) I'm addicted to CANDY. I'm also craving Cheetos (a dairy product, right?) today. True confessions are an ugly thing. Jan

So I'm envious of you runner-types! I'll cheer you on from the sidelines! csgoofygirl, you make me smile! And I second your thoughts on the sugar. 999Haunts, you've got to be able to eat at least some of what you enjoy. (Or need, in the case of coffee!)

I'm only going to write in inspirational things and treat it like a scrapbook with photos of things I want or that make me feel good. It will be an entire book of happiness. It's not going to be really fancy because then it'll be just another thing I feel pressured to do. It's just going to be something for my eyes only. Something I can grab and look through when I need a little pick-me-up. I'm looking forward to it! Not that I don't have tons of notebooks with magazine tear outs, and a couple of folders of things on my laptop...but this will be for 2009 and easier to grab when I need it. (And most likely hide in the bathroom with since it's the only place I *usually* can be alone for a few minutes. LOL)

I would love to run a 5 or 10K this year. That would just be too cool. I haven't done that in 20+ years.
