I always thought the theme of the show was lust, greed, envy, gossip, murder, philandering, deception, death, ressurrection, betrayal, evil twins and way overdressing for lunches at a tiny pierside cafe.

It's odd how infidelity and similarly extreme situations, when happening amongst 90% of the population (i.e. the mainstream), barely raises an eyebrow anymore. But a kiss between two people in the other 10% of the population is considered salacious and scandalous.

I guess I just don't see the big deal here. I mean, after years of Jenny Jones, Jerry Springer, etc., I just don't see this raising many eyebrows really.

The gist of the letter was that the person was no longer going to watch ABC since the affiliate opted to air the kiss and that Disney, among others, is trying to push homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle. You might want to re-think what is apparently your stereotypical view of those who watch soaps. Lots of people, men and women, teens and young adults, watch soaps, and it's not just bored lonely housewives or people with closed minds. I actually do keep up with a number of soaps and have been doing so for many, many years now. And I've watched a number of things on soaps that were ground-breaking for their time. jasmine7 wrote: > The gist of the letter was that the person was no longer going to watch ABC since the affiliate opted to air the kiss and that Disney, among others, is trying to push homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle. And I think it's fine that that person is no longer going to watch the soaps, but yes, it does disappoint me that some people think that way. But, I've learned that some people will read anything they want into a situation, whether it's there or not. /cs (who is still mad that ABC yanked "Soap" off the air before they could wrap up all the storylines)

Besides, this won't improve ABC's ratings, anyway

Hm, this reminds of some years ago, certain people "boycottin' Disney". Yeah. *That'll* happen. ;-)
