We're just in the auditions stage so there really aren't any spoilers yet. It's always a good rule of thumb to remember that some people might not have seen the shows yet so just try to warn everyone before you post something that might be a spoiler.

So, what did everyone think of the auditions tonight?

I know the big "cattle call" was at KeyArena, but when they show the room with the judges it doesn't look like it. Unless that's what the suites look like.

    I can't help it, I'm curious......

The auditions stage of the show sickens me. Yes, some of the people who audition are terrible singers. But I just can't stomach the vicious, destructive criticism the judges sometimes engage in. The sheer cruelty of it is not entertaining in any way, shape, or form to me. I do enjoy occasionally watching some of the competition once the contestants have been selected, but that selection process is very off-putting to me.

But for the most part, it's hard to watch the auditions. My favorite part of the show is when everybody finally gathers in Hollywood and they start weeding out the people who really want it from the people who don't or can't.

Sometimes I have just as much of a hard time later on in the contest when they have theme nights and people are forced to sing somewhat crappy songs that they'd never sing any other time.

The deliberate intent is to exploit these people who are obviously developmentally disabled. Yes, they're volunteering for it, but that still doesn't make it okay.

And we wonder why this country has such high standards and expectations when it comes to physical beauty.
