The Magnolia bend section is more formal. Both sections are nice. I don't think the pool is quite as imaginative as at Carribean but it seems bigger. I like the food court at both places about equally. Here are a couple photos from or trip in December. <a href="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0264.jpg" target="_blank">http://i67.photobucket.com/alb ums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0264.jpg</a> <a href="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0251.jpg" target="_blank">http://i67.photobucket.com/alb ums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0251.jpg</a> <a href="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0248.jpg" target="_blank">http://i67.photobucket.com/alb ums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0248.jpg</a> <a href="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0406.jpg" target="_blank">http://i67.photobucket.com/alb ums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0406.jpg</a> <a href="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0398.jpg" target="_blank">http://i67.photobucket.com/alb ums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0398.jpg</a> <a href="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0376.jpg" target="_blank">http://i67.photobucket.com/alb ums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0376.jpg</a> <a href="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0295.jpg" target="_blank">http://i67.photobucket.com/alb ums/h297/daannzzz/IMG_0295.jpg</a>

My favorite perk for both Port Orleans resorts is the ferry boat that takes you to Downtown Disney. Its a relaxing and scenic 15 minute or so ride down the Sassagoula River. I like to spend a fair about of time shopping at Downtown Disney so that is a huge "extra" for me as far as choosing the resort.

First off as pointed out by stitchcrazy is the river boat that takes you to Downtown Disney. Second is how quiet the resort is. POR is surrounded on three sides by golf courses so it is very quiet. If you get up in the morning you will find lots of bunnys and birds all over the grounds. Its a tough choice between staying at Magnolia Bend or Alligator Bayou. POR has a sit down restaurant, Boatwright's. Where you will find very good food. Third thing is the nightlife. Prepare yourself for some live good ol ragtime music in the lounge. They also make great drinks. Indulge yourself in a Mint Julep. Just like the Caribean Beach Resort you will find an array of outdoor activities, bike rentals, boat rentals, pools, hottub. Surprisingly, Disney's website says that horse drawn carriage rides are available also. Its located pretty centralized on the WDW property. And is extremely convenient to get from POR to any of the the Disney parks. Overall its a wonderful Disney resort to stay at. ( Can you tell I like the place? )

All the trees, bushes and landscaping are beautiful and make a large resort seem small and secluded. On vacation we don't like to always feel crowded (enough of that in the parks!) and POR comes through. We always stay in Building 25 which, although a 5+ minute walk from the food court, overlooks a quiet pool and is just steps away from a bus stop, where we were usually the first, sometimes the second pick up of the four bus stops. This year DH and kids rented small boats and had a blast on the river. Saw the horse drawn carriages too but didn't try them - maybe next time! I love the place too, KT. P.S. Labuda, our room has always been clean. Give it another try!
