I'd love to see what they could do today with something in the same league as The American Adventure at Epcot, but I don't think it would be worth the investment. Due to the huge sets, the theater has an enormous seating area; even with WDW's infrequent visitors (who tend to go to shows more than DL's locals), I've never seen it anywhere near full. It would be awesome to see something along that scale, but I just don't think that DLR could support it (not to mention they'd have a tough time fitting a building that large into DLR; it's about an acre in Epcot)

What goes better with your tropical treat than singing birds?

That said, I've never understood the mass hysteria over Dole Whip. It's tasty and all, but I wouldn't wait more than a couple minutes for it

Absolutely. I can't believe that I forgot that those insanely popular things are sold basically right at the door. You're also right that allowing people to bring snacks in is probably another reason it gets traffic.

Disney should have not been so cheap to scrap the Plutartcs Alien Review show for the Innoventions building. Heck they could have come up with a green apple soft serve and call it Alien tail whip.

In reality, it doesn't seem quite that easy, and the park visitors appear be more discerning than Disney gives them credit for

But if they were able to make a good drink/thing for Tomorrowland, and if they actually allowed guests into the theater with it, I see no reason that it wouldn't have been mutually beneficial. More people buying the product than would have without the show, and more people watching the show than would have without the product. Seems like a win-win to me!

It was the best thing to get on a hot summer night while waiting in line for the Rocket Jets.

Epcot had Kitchen Kaberet and Food Rocks (I liked both but KK was classic Epcot), Epcot still has American Adventure, MK has Stitch's Great Escape and HoP and DAK has ITTBAB (both Flik and Hopper are still exceptional AAs - but I've a real soft spot for both the movie and this show). SGE is the only new attraction there since '98. On the left coast there hasn't been a new AA show for a generation.

The problem is that AA shows are usually hybrids - i.e. movie-based with AAs. When budgets are cut, which they invariably are under the last few regimes, then AAs are the low hanging fruit. So we end up with Golden Dreams without the AAs. SGE was cut from a series of AAs to just one Stitch.

DLP arguably had the best AA show that never saw the light of day. Be Our Guest would have been a great update to the Tiki Room and it would have had the wow factor. I can't remember the last time I saw a decent AA show on the drawing boards.

It was to be a very strange show. I personally think it would have ended up like SuperStar Limo. We have never done TomorrowLand humor right.

That's interesting, and makes me think that it actually had the potential to be decent. SGE is one of the worst attractions I've ever experienced, but the Stitch AA is very impressive. Even the overhead cannon-things have a surprising amount of personality for what is supposed to be a simple prop. The script and storytelling has always been a problem for SGE, but the technical components are surprisingly good

I'm not sure AAs really capture the public's imagination like they did in the past. I think it's worth upgrading legacy attractions, as they already have a place in people's hearts, but I'm not so sure about a whole new attraction.
