(You can buy a picture of your name in large letters shaped after Disney characters, like if your name is Jennifer, a J would be shaped like Ariel or something... know what I'm talking about?)

Anyone know how much these things cost, also? Also is there even a name for this kind of art?

I saw them ad Disneyland and loved them.. but with weeks of travelling ahead of me it wasn't practical to purchase one.
I ened up buying one in Hawaii .. ten dollars for my very short name.. same idea letter made out of Hula girls, palm trees etc..
Good luck with your search (I'd have much preffered a Disney one!)

I don't remember exactly because it was awhile ago, but I want to say with all that it was around $60. But I know that you can have a small one where there is only a character for the first letter and then they just write the rest of your name-those are really cute too and aren't as expensive.

The Welcome is in large letters. I had it done near the Matterhorn. It is framed and matted. It is apprx 30" x 12". The other we had done for my daughter. It has all her favorite princesses. It is also the same size. This one was painted at the new Garden Walk outdoor mall. I like both, but I have to say the lady at the Garden Walk did a fantastic job on my daughter's. Both were in the $60- $90 range.

Try your local frame shop or Michaels. They will make you one - and it can be as nice as you want it to be.

I found a frame only slightly to big for mine at KMart..only cost me about eight dollars..then I payed a framing shop another ten to make a matte (is that the word?) to go around it.. not ideal but I didn't want to risk an expensive frame on a 14 hour flight.

Every frame shop on earth, from Michael's to JoAnn to Aaron Brothers to Prints Plus to your local art and framing shop makes frames in *any* *size* *you* *want* *or* *need*. Every one of these places will have more frame styles to chose from than any single small "Art Shoppe".
