The only way I've ever gotten a bunch of new e-mail addresses is when someone e-mails me in a group of people and doesn't bother to BCC the other names, so that all the addresses show in the "to:" line. To answer your question, I don't e-mail people unless I know them. So no, I wouldn't use addresses that were sent to me by a third party either.

Then before you send it, go down and highlight all the previous addresses in the body of the e-mail and delete that block.
