The time that we went in August was great, not to crowded and great weather. However, there was a hurricane the week BEFORE and the week AFTER we were there!
Do you think we are crazy taking our chances in August again?
I am a teacher so the summer is our only option. We are thinking the end of august because they are offering the dinnig plan.

But if you do mornings in parks, afternoons (when it's not lightning) at the pools, and nights (especially EMH's) in the parks, you'll be fine.

    And hurricanes just aren't predictable.
Central Florida usually doesn't get affected by them, but the last two years have been very heavy.

I'd go and have a great time.
Disney is putting out the great offers for August and September because they've always been a slow period and are likely dealing with many people afraid to book after all the storms of 2004-05.

Unlike other parts of the country, the rain in central florida comes in short intervals.. It may rain for 20 minutes like all get out and the sun comes back out... You said you were there before during the summer so you know pretty much what to expect... Have fun..!!

When I used to bring my own water in, I'd try to ensure I'd managed to freeze it almost entirely before heading into the parks for the day. That way, I had a little bit of water to sip at first, then once the ice melted, still had some cool water until I finished that bottle and bought one of Disney's. :)

I know that the CM warn you not to use their ice, it's not safe to drink.. I'm not sure that's true or not, it could be canal water LOL... or they just don't want guests taking all their ice on hot days, I sort of lean towards the second.. Are their any CM's out there that know if the ice is safe to chew on?? I would love to know...
