Does anyone have any suggestions of decent hotels in the area ($100 or less), and other things we might want to see/do. We will be arriving on the 5th and going home after the tour on the 7th. We want to go to Griffith Park and see the carousel, Walt's barn, the observatory and maybe Travel Town. We also want to go to the El Capitan and Soda Fountain and Studio Store. Any other ideas?

I wish I could help, but even the government rates in the area are well over $100.

I think you'll have to take your chances with priceline if that's your limit.

I'd try priceline.com also. Use only 3* or better. You can also check out what others are getting on Priceline by going to biddingfortavel.com

    Good Luck!

    Got Google maps?

I've never stayed at the Ramada, but my coworkers say it's o.k.

As for things to see,it depends on what your interested in, there's the Getty Museum, Universal City Walk, shopping there's The Grove & Farmers market, a mixture of old and new. If you belong to AAA you should get the Southern Calif Tour book, It's full of places to stay and things to see and do. Hope this helps out a little ,have a great time !!!!!!!!!!

The getty Museum is free on Saturdays after 5 pm, though. It is a great place to go. (But you are leaving on Saturday, right?)

Where are you from? The airport here is very close to everything, I think, as far as airports go.

Also, since you are coming in on a Thursday, you might want to look into other Burbank Studio tours. NBC has one, Warner Brothers has one, and of course, there is Universal.

One of my co-workers grew up in Burbank, and says it is smaller than the town we are from (Marysville, WA), so I'm not too worried about finding my way around. It looks like the airport is within a 10-15 minute drive of most everywhere we want to go!

Burbank is like a small town stuck inside of a big town. We even have a tiny museum area that is so cute!

Also, we have a Wilson's Leather Outlet. They have some great prices but you have to look, as they sometimes have damaged goods. Still, you can find a nice jacket for $29.

I'm really looking forward to this trip!
