    There are a lot of famous people / celebrities out there. To me it doesn't seem that odd that a handful of them (5 so far, right?) would pass away in the same week. I'm certainly not saying it isn't sad! I'm just not really shocked by it. I must admit I was shocked about Michael Jackson for a couple of days, but each person hasn't added to the shock for me. Most were older or sick, right? Again, each person's passing is very sad, it just doesn't shock me or make me think that something is out there making celebrities mysteriously die. Maybe people are just more aware and sensitive to it right now than usual?

    I remember Harve in "Paint Your Wagon". Often panned by critics because of Lee Marvin's deadpan, often off-key singing, Harve had a minor role as "Rotten Luck Willie", the local gambler and later casino owner. His beautiful, haunting rendition of "They Call the Wind Maria" is one of the shining examples of his talents, and one of the best songs from the movie as well. It's also always been one of my favorite movie musical songs.

    RIP Mr. Presnell...
