A natures remedie (( WE HAVE USE THIS AND IT WORKS GREAT!!)))) this is from my health pages ... for head lice... GRAPEFRUIT_SEED EXTRACT . it cost us $11 for a bottle that makes TONS!!! ...grapefruit-seed extract has been shown to provide swift relief from head lice.. MIX TWO QUARTERS SHAMPOO AND ONE QUARRTER EXTRACT 20 drops to 1 cup water put thoroughly into head and scalp. then place shower cap on head for 20 min ... then rinse well ..and use delousing comb... you may need more than one time treatment........ but its not poison to us..

As I mentioned on another topic site, insist that your child be able to keep his/her backback neatly under his desk. Have them put not only their coat in this backpack but also any hat that they might wear, such as a baseball cap. Lice goes through classrooms like wildfire and it is not wonder when all the coats and hats and backpacks are right up against each other.

I remember we had quite an "epidemic" in our elementary school. We had all the room moms periodically have "head checks" and if there were any suspects, instructions were sent home. They are just a pain. But it's not the end of the world. Just remember, HEAT. Heat kills the eggs.
