I don't care for 3D glasses either, because I wear Rx glasses, but these were well done and didn't feel uncomfortable to me. Sometimes they can feel heavy and hard to see through. The 3D was not huge for the film but definitely enhanced the experience.

The most "pixar-feeling" of any animated Disney film I've ever seen -- and for me that is a good thing given the last several Disney animated films, which just haven't done it for me.

    Definitely thumbs up.

I also wear glasses and would say these are the highest quality 3D glasses I have ever put on for a movie....they were also very protective of them- you had to leave them at your seat if you went out for anything ( sensors installed) -

agree - not a lot of 3D 'gags'bu it gave a depth to the background that really enhanced the movie...

Movie enjoyable throughout - travolta definitely better as a voice than an actor -LOL !.

Mark Walton was Rhino- previous Loosey Goosey in ChickenLittle

Agree Rhino a good addition to the movie

It's a kiddie movie ... very safe, very by-the-numbers and very predictable. No depth, no pushing the envelope, no much of anything ... just a nice bland little story that you've seen several times before, but your 8-year-old hasn't. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll recycle your 3D glasses, and if all goes well you'll buy everybody mechanical annoying-hamsters-in-a-ball for Christmas.

I would be very disappointed if this were the path that Disney was going to follow from now on - the play-it-safe cash cow that helps finance Pixar's flights of fancy. Even Tinker Bell has a subtle edge to it, and is a better movie because of it.

But considering where we were a few years ago, it's hard to quibble with where we are now. Walt Disney Animation has FINALLY made another decent movie. The direction is solid, the story is solid, the script is solid, the animation is solid, and the voices are all excellent. Your kids will love it, and you will not hate it. 6 stars out of 10.

PS ... As a voiceover actress, Miley Cyrus > Angelina Jolie. Whod'a thunk it?

PSS ... Miss ya, Chris Sanders. :(

Certainly better than 'Home on the Range' (which was a real stinker, imo), and far superior to both 'Chicken Little' and 'Meet the Robinsons.'

I know very little about the original 'American Dog' so don't know what was saved from that idea, but as a movie on its own -- 'Bolt' is very, very good.

I wrote this in another thread, but I would even say that 'Bolt' is far superior to 'Oliver & Co.' and even some 'classics' like 'The Aristocats' and even the two 'Rescuers' movies.

I liked that the movie stayed true to itself. It's current, but didn't seem 'hip' and 'edgy' like 'Madagasgar' or 'Shrek' (I find the sarcastic humor of those movies tiresome.)

Mittens and Rhino -- awesome! 'Bolt' has a very economical and well-written scipt, with nobody farting, burping or getting cracked in the crotch. Imagine!

A simple story? Sure. But very well told. This one is up there on the list for me -- right up there with 'The Incredibles.'
