The only things I have seen after two weeks since the movie opened are, the really bad toys from Burger King and some books about the story. Where is all the plush, and other stuff that was supposed to be out for this movie? Nothing at Target. Nothing at K-Mart. Nothing at Toys R Us. I wonder where is all is.

The story is as predictable as an Elvis movie and the "wink, wink" inside jokes that are suppost to win over the adult crowd are few and far between. Compared to Shrek (an A) I rate it a C-. If you just cut out the little rodent parts and put them together you have a really funny 6 minute film. The rest is just filler.

The merchandising is a huge aspect of revenue and long life of film and characters that needs to be thought of. Disneys huge chain of stores, theme park tie ins and stores, and relationships such as McDonalds make them impossible to beat merchandising wise. Retailers such as Toys R Us and Walmart will buy pre-buy stuff just because it is Disney, whereas a movie like Ice Age is more of a wait and see. I'm not saying no one can sell merchandise but Disney, I'm just saying nobody does it better....and that is something to think about if your name is Pixar and you are thinking about distributing movies on your own.
