9 days ago as I was leaving DLand I thought back on the trip and how much fun I had at the park. Then I thought about how much more I would have enjoyed to park if it weren't for my smoking habit. This little habit forced me to either spend time away from my family while they had fun and I fed the nicotine monster, or drag the kids to the smoking area and make them wait while I burned one. I realized that neither one of these options was any good. As I left the park I decided to quit smoking. It has now been over a week and every time I get the urge to smoke I think about how much fun I will have at DLand on my next trip. Without Cigarettes. My wife and children and friends tried for years to get me to quit and yet it was DLand that finally inspired me. If only Walt had quit much sooner we maybe could have had many more years with him. Anyway, on to the question.
Has anyone here been inspired to make a life change for the better strictly because of DLand? (lose weight, stop swearing, etc.) I would love to hear some stories.

Well, maybe not, because I just want to say that you are quite an inspiration. Congratulations. I'm just as thrilled as I can be for you and your family and I hope this leads to many, many more years of healthy, happy Disneyland inspirational moments for you. xoxo

I can't say I've been inspired myself. Only comment I can think of is I have a friend who's a psychologist, and she has a theory that Disney fans have a lower suicide rate because of our interest, but she's never figured out a way to prove it.

I have lost several family members, including a sister who was only 45 to cigarettes. So I am just bubbling over with excitement for your family and you.
My other sister quit smoking in between visits to me in Hawaii. What a difference!! It was like she was a different person. She was not a wreck getting off the plane, I did not have to put a coffee can on the back deck for her, we did not have to stop the car for her to get a fix when we went sight-seeing.

On what you asked; On my last trip to Disneyland I had an experience that caused me to be able to start healing from a very bad experience between my daughters and myself. I know that sounds vague but it is as specific as I will get here. Just say, you never know where, when nor why the Disney Magic will kick in.

Good luck to you on this important endeavor.
