The story is decent, and there are a lot of funny moments. There are some bits that will be over young kids' heads, but the adults will like it. I saw it in 3D, and there were a couple of gimmicky moments, but overall, it just enhanced the look of the film. If you can see it in 3D and don't mind paying the extra $3, I'd do it. But I'd recommend the movie overall. /cs

The operative word here is "lame." The writing is so lazy, the jokes so obvious, the plotting so sloppy that it's hard to build up much of an interest. It's got enough plot holes to fill the Albert Hall, and it apparently didn't occur to the filmmakers that the bad guy and one of the good guys are essentially the same stock character. It also brings back - with a vengeance - Dreamworks' relentless post-Boomer cultural references, some of which seem so forced here that I was actually offended at being patronized. New rule: The B-52's are hereby banned from all movies from now on forever. And there's a difference between a "loving tribute" to a film genre and the mere borrowing of some of its characters. That difference is made pretty clear here. All the mildly funny bits (and some of the unfunny ones) were in the trailers. Thumbs down. Dang ... looks like Kung Fu Panda WAS just a fluke.

"Fair" is about all I can say about the film.
