Well this year My Sister, BIL and two young nieces ( 4 & 7) were with us, so I decided to get another viewpoint on the playground. Well my 4 & 7 year olds first comments ( totally unsolicited) were : "is this it ? " and " there's no ride here ? " --

This is still my #1 hated area in all of WDW -- what a total waste...

p.s. both kids loved Tom Sawyers' Island -- liked the raft ride over, the trip through the mine and the barrel bridge....

Disney deliberately left attractions out of the playground to foster imagination in children.

My wife, grandmom and our youngest son went to go on Pooh while I took our 3yo on the Teacups. The plan was for me and my son to hang in the playground till they were done and then we'd all go back on Pooh together. My son went on one of the little slides then made his way into the treehouse. He came out and looked around and was trying to find something that would actually interest him and there wasn't anything.

I managed to find two positives, however. First the area is not that big so, there should be plenty of room to put something worthy back there. Second, the water in the water fountains didn't taste that bad. I couldn't remember the last time I used a public water fountain and it hit the spot. Thanks, Pooh.

both times we were near it was during the day and it was uncrowded - one time and almost empty the next ( this was 2 weeks ago and the crowds were not that heavy though period I will admit) - I did not go past it at night.....

and we spent very little time there-- the kids thought it was less than worth their time

Ditto to that.. I have many friends that have brought their little ones there and they all loved it... I don't see a problem with giving the small ones time to let out some steam and stretch their legs... I guess if you don't like it , don't go there.. easy as that..

problem is there is already a playground in MK - Tom Sawyers Island and all of Toon Town...there are not 2 - 3 playgrounds in any other park, nor should there be..IMHO !

Toon Town already a place to avoid again IMHO - no Riverboat - Pirates closed for rehab -- the last thing I wanted was another place to avoid....
