I live on a curve and leaving my car in the road while I get out to move the cans is at times pretty dangerous.
It bothers me that they get to make the rules. They get to tell you where to put your can, what way it has to face the street, etc, but that they don't care where they set it after they empty it or what condition they leave it in.

I cannot stand that they come on Thursday at like 6:30 in the morning. I live in an apartment complex and I happen to be closure to the dumpsters and dont have to wake up during the week until about 7:7:30. I hate that I get woken up by the beeping and the noise right past my bedroom window that early when I could still have another hour to sleep in.

    GRRRRR....

I live in an apartment on the third floor...no where NEAR the trash or the shoot. Yet, twice a week with the beep-beep-beep-beep-beep and for what? They are in the parking structure beneath us! They used to just take the large bins out the side doors in the parking structure but now they have this small vehicle that pulls them the entire length of the building. One of these days I will wake up with a migraine and I know I will throw things from my balcony at them. Like a rock. Or an egg.

Ironically, I feel the opposite. We have narrow streets (cars can barely pass), and if they don't get through their route on time, the mommy-van brigade gets trapped behind the trucks. Everybody gets impatient because we want to drop the little house-apes off at school so we can get on with our important bon-bon eating and soaps.

The recycling truck comes even later in the morning and the traffic backup in the neighborhood is awful.

They came on different weeks / days. So you have to look a what everyone else has put out. Then they just leave them "close" to the drive ways. Here's me with stroller dashing to nursery, having to move everyones bins so I can get passed!!

My rule...collect all the bins on one day, build us somewhere to store them so whole roads dont look like dustbin shops ( garbage can stores...lol....are we speaking the same language here?...really? and make sure strollers and wheelchairs can get by afterwards!

The only thing I'd do different is have mixed recycling. We don't do that in this county and it is a huge pet peeve of mine. So much so that I am taking the matter up with The Man.
