We have small children and there is no way we are going to be at the resort by 7:30am each day...especially if we are watching fireworks or a parade the night before. I just don't want to show up at 10:00 or 11:00 and have nowhere to park.

What I have noticed (on Sundays, since that's my usual day to use the parking) is that the wait to get in the lot gets quite long if you arrive after 10am. I've gotten there around 10:30, all lanes are open and it still may take 10 minutes to get in. And that was in Spring! So, just be aware that arriving late morning may cause a parking delay.

I know that when they're not all full, there will be signs for people arriving off the freeways to direct them to the lot that's open. If they are all full, what do they say "No Disneyland parking - go home!" . They must do something in order to prevent gridlock from the area streets turning into one giant holding pattern. Also, is DtD parking handled separately in this regard? I'd think that the merchants would want to have their customers' parking separate from the park in that they don't just use the DtD parking as park parking overflow. If this is the case, then even if the park parking is full, that would be an option (of course you have to pay, even if you have a Premium AP). Or, you could possibly self or valet park at one of the hotels. The convention center also has a parking structure.
