Folks, it's about $$$$$$$. The merchandising of these "special" events are losing their luster as Disney is conducting way too many of them. Then they charge you $80 to get in, for an attraction that will be open 2 days later...and, for this money, we didnt even get Tim Burton/Elfman! The last event was a ripoff, IMHO.

They're a business. They've always been a business. If I want love, charm and camaraderie of getting together, I'll hang out with my friends. > they are doing this so hundreds will buy $12.00 pins that they manufacturer for 50 cents! And they're not forcing anyone to buy anything. > The last event was a ripoff, IMHO. Sorry you feel that way. Many of us don't. I've had a great time at all the events I've been to, even if they didn't go off 100% perfectly. I think the money I spent was well worth what I got out of each evening. I'll decide on whether or not I want to attend this event once they announce what it will entail. /cs

Well, yes they are: if they did not offer a "gift", they wouldn't draw 50% of what they do draw. Many come for the gift. ANd, let's say that most everyone did not buy any of the merchandise offered, the event would never happen. These events, in Disney's POV, is all about the merchandise (though there are exceptions to the rule). Once again, 'nut, another post of yours many simply do not understand.

Please show me where I said the HM unimpresses me...another person putting words in my mouth. The EVENT unimpresses me...it's not special...oh, and folks...beware before you buy...remember, they promised 2 guests (Tim Burton and Danny Elfman), then, after many tickets sold, they failed to show up! SAD....

I am not saying that the event would not have been great even with out them, we did not go.BUT, when you do pay that much for something you expect to get what you pay for. I do want to go to it this year, but I am a bit curious if they will try again to have the guests. They need to have a back up plan in case they mysteriously(?)dont show up again.
